The deal
Vivartia Holding S.M.S.A. has signed a definitive agreement to sell 100% of the shares in Evergood, the food services arm of the Vivartia Group, to the Canadian company Recipe Unlimited Corporation. The announcement, dated 14 October 2026, does not disclose the consideration. Completion remains subject to customary approvals and conditions, and the sources give no closing date. SKAI describes the sale as a long-brewing mega deal and expects it to reinforce the dominance of brands that already lead the market, including Goody's Burger House, Everest, Flocafe, La Pasteria and Jackaroo. NewsIT links the transaction to earlier contacts led by CVC under Alex Fotakidis.

What Recipe brings
Recipe is a food service company with more than 100 years in the sector. It runs 18 brands across full-service, limited-service and retail formats, among them Swiss Chalet, St-Hubert, Montana's BBQ & Bar, Harvey's Burgers, New York Fries and The Burger's Priest. SKAI puts the company's network at more than 1,100 restaurants across Canada, with international operations in the United States and the Middle East. The same outlet says the company was founded in 1883 as Canada Railway News Company and started out selling newspapers. Since October 2022, according to SKAI, Recipe has belonged entirely to the Fairfax investment group of Indo-Canadian billionaire Prem Watsa, which already operates in Greek banking.
Recipe's chief executive, Frank Hennessey, presented the purchase as a platform for international expansion.
Evergood holds a leading position in the Greek market and has an outstanding management team with extensive experience, making this an ideal partnership to accelerate our international growth.
Hennessey also said Recipe looks forward to working with Evergood's management to build growth opportunities in Greece and abroad.
The Goody's-Everest group
SKAI describes the Goody's-Everest group as the largest dining group in Greece, with five restaurant chains, more than 560 points of sale, two production units and over 5,000 employees, including franchise staff. The group also holds a leading position in travel catering, with a presence at most service stations and passenger ships and more than 50 years of experience in airport food service. Its brand list in the Vivartia transaction covers the Goody's Burger House, Everest, Flocafe, La Pasteria and Jackaroo names that will move to Recipe's ownership once the deal closes.
Advisers and what comes next

Recipe's team included EY-Parthenon Greece on tax and financial advisory work, Scotiabank (Scotia Capital Inc.) as financial adviser, KPMG on transaction advisory services and Karatzas & Partners on legal matters. With completion still subject to approvals, the sources do not set out a timetable or the price.
